actually Ryan can beat Sammy but it’s an issue of fight, determination and grit. Is he willing to pay the price? Ryan has the talent and speed to beat Sammy. It’s not a question of talent, it’s a question of confidence and believing. Ryan has the form and technique but he has to turn “potential” into “winning.” Sammy is a reckless runner and breaks your spirit. He is a fighter and races to destroy the opponent. Can Ryan get that killer instinct?

Okay, Hall whipped out a 4:32 mile . . . for mile EIGHTEEN. Someone please explain that to me, because I can’t get over it. 4:32?! AFTER running 17 hard miles? With 8 more to go after that?

Admit it, folks. Ryan Hall could outrun Achilles.

Kid I don’t know how much you know about marathoning, but 10k fame doesn’t automatically translate to marathon fame. He hadn’t proved himself in the event yet…hence, not a favorite regardless of his 10k time. The favorites had all proven themself in the event…so yea, I could careless about his 27:30

  17. 4241600m posted on February 10, 2010:

are you kidding me. he had run 27:30 for 10k on the track. i think that is pleanty of experience to be a major contendor at any marathon.

this is and has been my favorite distance running video for a long time, good job making this

Ritz wasn’t a favorite based on outright experience.

Meb had just gotten silver, and abdi was on fire along with Ryan.

Ritz is amazing though and made a name for himself at this race.
